This image was taken in 2007 in Kashgar, North West China.

Golden dates and pistachio nuts, Egyptian silk and thin-skinned porcelain. Kashgar, along the fabled Silk Road , had it all - and still does. It has the largest market in Central Asia and is a window into the past - a time when ancient caravans arrived with sugar and exotic spices.

From Kashgar, we caught a local bus through the Torugart Pass (3752m), to Kyrgyzstan, which is one of the most picturesque passes in the world.

Yoga is far from just a practice. It's a journey. One that takes us off the mat and into the world, exploring new cultures, meeting new people, and discovering parts of ourselves we never knew existed.
